Hello everyone! English camp is going pretty well! last night was the first CANDLE time  with the group of teenagers I was asinght to. Candle time  is the time right before the lights out where small group of teenagers meets with their councelor and discusses some questions. It started pretty rought, but then we got along very well! We had a opportunity to talk a bit about life. Kids in my group have been to EC several times, so they know what this camp is all about, they`ve heard gospel before. Usualy it means thatsince that time they`ve come up with some questions, I hope I will be able to answer some of it. =)

Here it is! English camp has officially starterted! For those who hear about it for the first time, english camp is Main Event in Student Venture Moscow ministry. Every year we take from 300-500 russin high school students out side of Moscow to study English for 4 days. We also invite christian American high school students and adults to be teachers. While kids are going through english program and fun activities they build strong friendship with their American teachers that gives a aportunity for christians to share their faith on deeper level.
This years theme is AMAZING RAICE. Throught out the camp this theme will be in study books, in every outdoor game even in the disco party.
Beside the preperations I will be discussion group leader with some kids from school 1260 and MCing evening mettings with Cam Harder, Morning meetings will be led by Marina and Addy =) The story is we participate in Amazing race, and compete not only boy team against girls team but also against those groups that participate in the show. We made some amazing videos, I will upload it all on Youtube, and share with yall later!
I got to run, there are some first pictures of me MCing meetings.
Blessings,

Sam

Well, its done! This week I had final meeting with Russian director of TEOS radio station, he approved the concept of a program that me and my friend going to do. The first program will be on Wednesday, but after that we will be on air every Thursday night from 9-11pm.

Our target audience is young people 15-24. Every program we going to be inviting interesting guests, playing interesting ( to us) Christian and non Christian music.

I have a strong feeling that its gonna be fun!

Any Ideas? =))

Well, last week I had a final (!!!) meting with SV Russia director, where we finally (!!!) decided what my role and goals are going to be for  this year ( school year) in the ministry.

I don’t think that the meeting was meant to really discuss the plan, but rather for me to receive the “blessing” and final approval, and have verbal agreement with my director.

So, here is what Lord has put on my heart and what I ask you all to pray from time to time.

:: The main thing that I want to pay a lot of attention this year is personal mentoring of several kids. If you are interested to pray for them email me, for I don’t want to put their names on this blog. I have`t got the idea what we going to study or do, but I trust God that after Christian conference them and me will decide on that.

:: Bible study groups. Even several weeks ago I was thinking creating a 2d group only for guys, but now I see it as mix group ( guys and girls). The reason I made that decision is that we`ve got a lot of girls in our ministry, but not enough staff for al of them. And I also think its gonna be a lot of fun! I look for passionate discussions on certain topics =)

:: Friday night bible club. This year I will be doing more teaching and MC-ing than  never. That is exiting! That will encourage me a lot to do some more studying and meditating on Gods word. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to be creative and learn a lot! And  also I simply love to be on public, I love to be on stage and have everyone’s attention =)))

:: Camps and projects. The approximate amount of hours I will be working is 25-30/week. Now, when we have English camps, conferences etc its usually 24/7, and I really mean that. But, it makes it even more fun!

:: I will also going to be in charge of  “transfer” those students that graduated from high school but still attending our meetings. Because of our target group is high school kids, we prepare everything for their age group, so a lot of time stuff that me discus is already not as interesting for University students . And plus, we have another Student Venture team that works primarily with University students. So, at least once a month I will be attending their meetings, giving a talk from time to time and bringing some kids to their meetings.

I will also be doing radio program, ( it starts in 2 weeks) but that is ot considered as part of the SV ministry.

I will do some more posts later and tell you all a little more about every aspect of my ministry.

«Si Deus Nobiscum quis contra nos»

While im waiting for the new season of CSI Las Vegas being available for download, I started to entertain my self with new show!

The first time I watched office at Bordeaux’s this summer, loved it from the first sight! So gotta say I like it a lot, in love with Pam Michael Kevin and the rest! Yesterday I finished season 1, cant wait to start the 2nd.

Ok, Tomorrow at SV meeting I will be giving a talk about what does it mean to be an adult. Kind of interesting how it happened to be my turn, but apparently God wants me to research that subject on more time, and share some of the ideas with others.

The whole day today I surfing the internet, reading the bible and Systematic theology, got a lot of info, but still cant put my thought together… One one hand I got a lot of good info, on the other I want choose what is really important, but Im not sure what that is…

So as Im getting ready for tomorrow, pray for me, and if you got great bible verses where it says anything about being adult, let me know!

Got 24 more hours!

=)

What is going on in the world markets today can be described by the one word – drop! Everyday when I watch the news I hear about one or several more banks claiming bankruptcy or being nationalized by their government. Almost every other day I hear how one or the other corporation is falling apart or firing their employees to shorten their expenses.

American, European, Russian and Asian stock markets are falling! The Dow fell 5% (it was falling even during George W Bush’s positive press conference), The Brazilian BOVESPA – 4,5%. The Futures for American Indexes keep falling down, Japan fell 9%, Hong Kong and India – 7%, Korea and Taiwan – 6%.

In Russia over the past 2 days, the Stock Exchange has stopped trading several times. Today it worked only for 30 minutes, and then was stopped again!

What I really find interesting is that last week all the European country leaders had a meeting where they decided to create a group of managers who’s primary job will be monitoring the European stock market and if necessary make emergency decisions in case panic happens. Now, isn’t it interesting that the idea of one leader over all the markets and eventually all the world, is in the air? I can totally imagine how everyone will not be able to buy and sell stuff without his permission!

There is an old joke. An old broker is dying, he is lying on his bed, all his family is around him. He looks out the window and asks one of his sons,

“what is that out there John?”

John replies, “It is snow falling.”

“Snow falls?… buy it!!!”

So, I guess if you have any stocks in your hand right now, the worst thing you can do is selling them for nothing, the best option in this situation will be holding on to them until the market will be growing again.

But if you ever though of getting your self into this wonderful and crazy world of stocks, there is no better time then now! I don’t think that there will be better time to buy really expansive stocks for so cheap! Of course there is a high risk that those companies or banks might no survive through the crisis, but that’s what makes it difficult and exiting when you’ve got to make a decision!

I think that it is wrong and unprofessional to follow everybody’s panicked hysteria, which, I must admit, has an influence on the market. But, rather it is time to study technical analysis and company’s business.

Every Friday night we (student venture Moscow) have our  meetings! Last Friday wast  an exception!

Beside the music, fun games and icecream we had a spesial  guest! I dont remember his name, but the guy that we hd  ower was a former bodybuilder champion (Mr America)  Really hard thing was that this man, who use to be so strong  and proud of himself, was really weak because of brain  cancer but full of love because of Jesus Christ that changed  his life. Doctors gave him several more months, and he decided to spend this time traveling around the globe, telling how important and awesome that he knows Jesus.

When people leaving this world, they want to tell us the most important thing! Im glad that for that man it is the name of Jesus Christ.

Here is some pics, check em out!!
